Europe. forever fleeting...
in effort to fight my own recluse...here are some thoughts about europe:
-Ice. as in "ice water" or "whiskey on the rocks" does not exist in Austria. Most drinks are served warm and austrians like to keep their refrigerators at a perfectly comfortable level barely below room temperature.
-I have been told that urinating in public is a perfectly reasonable alternative to "pay toliet" found throughout europe and laregly goes unnotticed. i have yet to experiment with this recourse in an obvious area. but financial constraints may soon prove otherwise.
-"coffee" in europe is just really expensive expresso.
-waking up totally confused in a German ambulance surrounded by German speaking doctors can really get your heart rate in a frenzy.
-Garbage trucks, dump trucks, taxis, commercial buses and most cars are all BMW, mercedes benz or volkswagens (if you are poor (for europe)).
-London girls have good style.
The Austrian country side is beautiful. farmland in western austria is scarce so many of the areas for caddle grazing and agriculture are blazed right into the side of the hanging valleys carved by past glaciation. it doesnt seem like it should be safe to stand on the land. let alone raise a family and tend to a farm.
